so I'mma hit the kitchen, cooking like, non-stop,

Get the water boilinnng, with the, salt in the pot,
...bout to sauce up, whatever, pasta that we got,
preheat the oven... can't forget them garrrlic knots,
and we dont drink, but I'll get that apple juice, bottle popped,

Alright, the food's done, and now I gotta get these dishes,
Squiriting Dawn, scrub scrub, then I gotta rinse it,
OK the dishes done, I go to put em all away,
was in a rush and dropped a glass, and it, broke all the way,

now I gotta get the broom... and sweep this mess up,
stepped on some, now the floor, be, looking like some ketchup,
go clean my foot off, and, cover it with bandaids,
back to the kitchen, put the glass where the trash stay.

But it's looking full, so I take it all outside,
and notice that some cats, got in our cans... oh my god,
there's garbage everywhere, so I clean it all up,
go back inside, wash my hands, I'm just trynna catch up.

I start, setting the table, and see its really dirty,
get the cleaner, and paper towels, I'mma need bout 30,
got the plates and silverware, and I go to light the candles,
just to have the lighter not work, I, guess I gotta handle,

this by running to the store, just a quick trip,
get the little Bic, two pack, just in case one quits,
no more setbacks, said how much longer baby, got the text back,
"its been a busy day, but I'll be home soon," bet that,

I'm rushing to put the, rose petals, on the bed, in the room,
led em out, towards the table, light some in-cense too,
passed by the mirror... and see I'm looking kinda wild,
its time to tame the mane, and main-tain, the vibe,

Barbasol, triple blades, after-shave, thats the stuff,
took out the fancy cologne... 2 sprays that's enough,
didn't have time to brush... so I'm gargling the mouth wash,
comb the hair, pop the pimples, flex a little... dad bod,

run up to the closet, looking for my best shirt,
not my favorite but the one she likes, one night won't hurt,
looking kinda wrinkled... so I'm heating up the iron,
after that, feeding cats, so we don't gotta hear them crying,

Cleaning out the litter... to avoid all that stench,
ain't trynna have the mood ruined, want a perfect night, rinse,
off my hands afterwards, dry em on the last towel,
might as well, throw the laundry in, for when we gotta shower,

later on, wonder why my lady taking so long?
maybe its traffic, must be bad with, all this con-struc-tion,
got that "5 minutes away" text, practice what I'll say, yes,
just like the first date, wanna keep her, capti-vay-ted,

head back to the kitchen, pop our food in the microwave,
to make sure its hot, I think she almost to the drive-a-way,
turning on the speakers, and, putting on the playlist,
that I made the night before, now I'm just, wai-ting,

...don't wanna be a lazy partner, wanna show I care,
type to compliment on looks despite that double-shift hair,
keys jingling outside, door opened with a creak,
she said "I'm home," just to find me on the couch, fast sleep.

I vow to treat you no less, vow to keep things low stress,
vow that we wouldn't be homeless, even with an eviction not-ice,

even the biggest mansion that has every item from Ikea...
isn't a home if it don't feel like it...
I vow to pitch in even on days that I don't feel like it,

I vow to fight it... the strong urge to be lazy,
it's just so easy to get used to such a... hardworking lady,
who cooks and cleans, but your time is as valuable as mine,
more valuable than my comfort, more valuable than mines,

full of diamonds and gold, can't treat you like a piece of coal,
and expect you not to get burnt out, when we're wrinkled and old,
